The new Samsung Galaxy S22 line-up was released on February 9. It consists of three phone models: Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22. The line-up comes with amazing features, such as a new processor, a fresh design, and camera updates, amidst other upgrades.
Now that the Samsung Galaxy S22 is launched officially, let’s take a closer look at the product. Just as the name suggests, the Galaxy S22 is a small variant, Galaxy S22+ is larger, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra is not only the largest but also comes with a brand new design while its siblings look like the Galaxy S21 but a bit smaller.
It’s normal to expect the Galaxy S22 Ultra to have the largest screen. It has a 6.8″ screen size with 550ppi, the Galaxy S22+ has a 6.6″ screen size with 393ppi, the Galaxy S22 has a 6.1″ screen size with 425ppi. All have dynamic AMOLED 2x screens with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Only the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with an S Pen, which is Bluetooth enabled and operable at a distance of about 10m. All three phones are 5G enabled. Also, the trio comes with the Android 12 OS.
In terms of camera, both the Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 are very similar. They both feature three rear cameras – a 50MP (f/1.8) main, a 12MP (f/2.2) ultrawide, and a 10MP (f/2.4) 3x telephoto – and a single 10MP (f/2.2) front camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has four rear cameras – a 108MP (f/2.2) main, 12MP (f/2.2) ultrawide, 10MP (f/2.4) 10x telephoto, and 10MP (f/2.4) 3x telephoto – and a single 40MP (f/2.2) front camera. The trio shoots up to 8K 24 fps video.
While the trio differs in terms of their battery capacity, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S22+ are similar in their charging capacity. As expected, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery capacity, the Galaxy S22+ has 4,500mAh, and the Galaxy S22 has 3,700mAh. Both the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S22+ feature 45W wired, 15W wireless charging but the Galaxy S22 features 25W wired, 15W wireless charging.
All three phones have 8GB RAM though the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 12GB RAM variant. More so, all three phones come with either the 128GB or 256GB storage capacity though the Galaxy S22 Ultra has the 512GB and 1TB variants.
The trio has the following intelligent features: detail enhancer, scene optimizer, scan QR codes, shot suggestions, and so on. They all bear either the 4nm 64bit Octa-Core Processor * 2.80GHz (Maximum Clock Speed) + 2.5GHz + 1.8GHz or the 4nm 64bit Octa-Core Processor * 2.99GHz (Maximum Clock Speed) + 2.4GHz + 1.7GHz (depending on the carrier or country).
Some Samsung Galaxy S22 phones are single-SIM models while some are dual SIM models – one Nano SIM with one eSIM, two Nano SIMs, and two Nano SIMs with one eSIM (depending on the carrier or country).
