What Can We Expect From Apple’s First Event of 2022?

On average, there are about three to four events from Apple in a year – a spring event in March, the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, an event that focuses on iPhone and Apple Watch in September, and possibly an October event if there are any iPads or Macs in view.

Although we are expecting multiple events from Apple this year, this post would be reviewing what can be expected from Apple in its first event in 2022 – the spring event.

Please note that all information on product launch in this post is based on estimates and rumours, the actual launch product and timelines may vary.

Apple typically holds its spring event in March or April and we’re expecting the company to hold their first event of 2022 during late March or early April, where rumours have it that the company will introduce the new iPhone SE, iMac models, AirTags, and so on.

iPhone SE with 5G

It is rumoured that Apple is developing a new version of its iPhone SE, but with an upgraded processor and 5G connectivity. The new iPhone SE is expected to look like the current version, which features the iPhone 8 design.

Aside from the 5G connectivity and upgraded processor, which would be the main selling point, the new iPhone SE will also feature a Touch ID home button with thick bezels.

iPad Air

It is also expected that Apple would launch a fifth-generation iPad Air during the spring event. The fifth-generation iPad Air would look similar to the sixth-generation iPad mini.

The new iPad Air is expected to come with a 12MP Ultra-Wide front camera with Centre Stage support, 5G connectivity for cellular models, and an A15 Bionic chip. It would look like the current iPad Air with a Touch ID power button, a USB-C port, a 10.9-inch LCD display, a single-lens rear camera, and various colour options.

27-inch iMac Pro

Rumours have it that Apple is currently designing a 27-inch iMac Pro that would be released alongside the 24-inch model. It’s expected that the iMac Pro would feature M1 Pro/M1 Max chips, a 27-inch mini-LED display with ProMotion technology, and a Pro Display XDR-like design. While this product is expected to be launched during Apple’s first event in 2022, its release may be delayed till later in the year.

Mac mini

The last but not the least product expected during Apple’s first event of 2022 is a Mac mini. Apple is expected to possibly release a more sophisticated version of the Mac mini this spring. The Mac mini would feature a more powerful Apple silicon chip and additional ports.

It will come with an enhanced version of the M1 chip silicon chip that will support up to 64GB RAM and a 10-core CPU. Users will be able to choose between the 16- or 32-core GPU options. The product will also feature 4 Thunderbolt ports. Similar to the upcoming 27-inch iMac, the new Mac mini models are expected to come with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

These are the most likely products you should expect from Apple in their first event of 2022. While we wait for the actual product launch date, don’t forget to check out for exciting offers on iPhone cases and accessories from iCoverLover.
